Keeping the shoulders and hips square in the Plank
and Hover patterns requires co-contraction of the
anterior sling muscles. This includes the obliques
and their connections to the upper and lower limb
muscles. This type of control trains us to protect
our spines when we encounter uneven loads.
The slow tempo of the music means that the
intensity builds in this track to challenge balance
and stability progressively. Role-model (say and
do) how to dial the intensity up or down in Layer
1 Setup; this allows the class to choose the
level that best suits them, right from the start. In
Layer 2 be sure to qualify the levels – explaining
