In the second half of the track once your class
knows the Jump Kick combination, coach them to
experience the FEEL of the movement and let the
music drive them to powerful execution. Connect
with the group using the team “Kiah” or in your
own way in the last block since you are facing
the class and moving forward and back instead
of side to side. This is your first opportunity for
your class to really dig in and start to challenge
themselves.
TECHNIQUE & COACHING
JAB, CROSS, DESCENDING ELBOW, PULSE
Layer 1
 Jab, Cross, Descending Elbow, Pulse
 Descending Elbow: Hand into the chest, lift the
elbow then bring it straight down the middle
 Jab, Cross: Target to the nose/lip/chin, soft
elbow
Layer 2
 On the Elbow: Drop the shoulder and fire your
abs to generate power
JAB, CROSS, DESCENDING ELBOW, JUMP
KICK
Layer 1
 Add the Jump Kick: Sweep the back leg up,
then Jump Kick for cardio
 Option for power: Step Kick
Layer 2
 Step Kick option: The stability of the Step
allows you to bring more POWER!
 Jump Kick: Use momentum to propel your
body weight off of the floor and spike your
heart rate to burn more calories
Layer 3
 Heart rate is pumping!
 Can I have a “Kiah” on the Jump Kick? KIAH!
SLOW ADVANCING SIDE KICK
Layer 1
 Step left leg behind, right Side Kick, reset,
then step right leg behind, left Side Kick, reset
 Toes down, heel up on the Kick
 Turn the standing heel towards the target as
you step
 Execute slowly to gain confidence
 Use your arm for balance
Layer 2
 Focus on stepping BEHIND the kicking leg that
will help you cover more DISTANCE when you
Kick
FAST ADVANCING SIDE KICK
Layer 1
 Add the speed: Step, step kick
 Advancing with the steps
 Toes down and squeeze the glutes as you fire
the Kick
Layer 2
 Extend the Kick further
 Take the Kick higher to challenge yourself!
 Bring leg back in with speed
